The textile profession is very active in following European community policies concerning bilateral and multilateral commercial negotiations, industrial policies, the defense of intellectual property rights, support for innovation with small and medium-sized companies, training employees (the Textile-Clothing-Leathergoods sector Advisory Board), the promotion of creative industries …

The UIT is a member of EURATEX. Gregory Marchant,  Vice-President of UIT in charge of European affairs, represents UIT at EURATEX Board. He was elected VP of Euratex in June 2019.

On an international scale, the UIT has made partnership agreements with numerous foreign textile associations : Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Korea, Japan, Uzbekistan, Russia …

These exchanges, that translate into industrial projects, welcoming foreign delegations and organizing workshops at professional trade fairs (Premiere Vision, International Lingerie Salon,…) encourage bilateral business relationships (exports, investments…).

On the other and, the UIT identifies and promotes the internationalisation tools together with business France, BPI, COFACE, ….
